STREAM FEST.2026 was held during the “Monozukuri Expo” at Toyohashi City Gymnasium over two days, June 5(Fri.) and June 6(Sat.), 2026.
Thanks to your support, approximately 1,350 visitors attended over the two days, and the venue was filled with excitement and activity.

On behalf of the Toyohashi STREAM FEST. Executive Committee, we would like to ezpress our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended, the exhibiting companies and universities, and all those who supported and sponsored the event.

What is STREAM FEST.?

STREAM FEST. is a hands-on event where children can enjoy learning about Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Through various experiential programs, participants are introduced to the knowledge and ways of thinking needed in a future society where IT and AI play an increasingly important role. The event provides opportunities for children to discover new interests and possibilities.
The event is designed not only for children but also to help parents gain a deeper understanding of the importance and appeal of STREAM education.

This was the second STREAM FEST. held in Toyohashi, and we were delighted to welcome even more visitors than last year.

Experiential Booths Presented by Companies and Universities

The venue featured a wide variety of STREAM-related booths presented by companies and universities.

Visitors enjoyed hands-on experiences related to robotics, programming, manufacturing, science, and technology, allowing them to learn by seeing, touching, and experiencing each activity firsthand.
One of the unique attractions of the event was the opportunity to experience each activity while receiving direct explanations from exhibitors. Through interactions with engineers and university researchers-people whom participants would not normally have the chance to meet-both children and parents were able to gain new knowledge and insights.

Throughout the venue, many children could be seen enthusiastically participating in activities, while parents and children worked together to take on various challenges. Every booth was bustling with activity.

The First-Event Typing Competition Was a Huge Success!

On the first day, a Typing Competition aimed primarily at high school students was held on the main stage. This was a brand-new event introduced for the first time this year.
High school participants competed using skills they had developed through daily practice, creating a series of exciting and intense matches.
A large audience gathered in front of the stage, and the participants’ incredible typing speed was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers, creating a lively atmosphere throyghout the venue.

Furthermore, in the afternoon, exhibitors from the Monozukuri Expo also joined the fun for a special Company Typing Competition.
The serious competition among professionals working in various companies attracted significant attention from students and visitors alike. The venue was filled with smiles and excitement, making it an event that people of all generations could enjoy together.

Although this was a new initiative not featured at last year’s STREAM FEST., it received overwhelmingly positive feedback and proved to be a valuable opportunity to spark interest in digital skills and the IT field.

Robot Sumo for Elementary School Students on Day 2!

On the second day, we held a Robot Sumo event primarily for elementary school students.
In Robot Sumo, participants attach different skill parts to an existing robot and compete against each other on a sumo ring.
Because the outcome of each match can change dramatically depending on the parts attached to the robot and the program selected, the participating children approached the challenge with great concentration and enthusiasm.

Once the matches began, the powerful collisions between robots drew loud cheers from the audience. Parents and spectators enthusiastically supported the competitors, filling the venue with excitement and energy.
Through Robot Sumo, children were able to learn not only about robot mechanisms and operation, but also the importance of thinking strategically about “how to win” and enjoying the challenge of trying new ideas.

Creating Opportunities That Shape Children’s Futures

Through this event, we hope to provide children with opportunities to experience the excitement of science, technology, and manufacturing, and inspire them to learn more on their own.
In recent years, digital technologies and AI have rapidly transformed society and the way we work.
That is precisely why we believe it is important to create opportunities for children to explore a wide variety of technologies, careers, and educational pathways.

During the event, we heard many comments such as:
“I became interested in robots.”
“I want to try programming.”
“I was amazed by the technological capabilities of local companies.”

We hope that these small discoveries and interests will become the first step toward future dreams and career paths.
